Andrew Shannon walked into the National Gallery Ireland in 2012 and punched a hole through Monet’s ‘Argenteuil Basin with a Single Sailboat’, valued at roughly £8 million. Although he tried to play it off as an accident, security footage proved otherwise, and he was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
